On 20 and 21 July 2019 there will be a traditional festival that illuminates the Basin of San Marco, the celebration of the Redeemer.
This is one of the most popular holidays for Venetians.
They cohabit the religious and the spectacular aspect, thanks to the phantasmagorical pyrotechnic show that attracts thousands of visitors.
On the stage of the San Marco Basin, plays of light and reflections trace many colors that spread behind the spiers, domes and bell towers of the city.
The Feast of the Redeemer is the event that recalls the grace received by the city to end the plague.
Every year, after this remembrance, a procession would be held until the new votive church.
On the Saturday before the third Sunday of July a long votive bridge of boats is opened.
This is set up on the Giudecca Canal at the height of the Chiesa dello Spirito Santo, thus allowing the pedestrian achievement of the Church of the Redeemer.
The celebration consists of dances and celebrations of all kinds that will continue until dawn.
Around 11.30 pm you can watch the fires of the Redentore in Venice 2019.
This is a real show that enchants the whole world and represents the most awaited moment of the whole weekend.
Thanks to this famous and magical celebration many tourists come to watch this show in the historic center of Venice.
